While down at the river, Geoff and I were trying to capture some light trails of the cars coming down Fall Hill Ave. No such luck, so I started looking around for something else to shoot. Glad I did. This is one of my favorites of the project so far. I think it’s got a kinda surreal graphic quality to it.

I’ve been meaning to get a shot of the river for some time now, so I called Geoff up and convinced him to trek down to the river with me in the freezing cold, in the middle of the night. It actually wasn’t that hard of a sell, to be honest. Right up Geoff’s proverbial ally. I didn’t want to shoot the river as it’s traditionally shot: picturesque, gorgeous late evening light, idyllic. I hoped to tell a different story, a quieter story, if that makes sense. I’d love to wax philosophical about the importance of the river to a community like Fredericksburg, but you’re here for the pictures, right? Thanks for stopping by!
